I played a lot of magic about 15 or so years ago when I was in college, and even went to a few regional tournaments after winning enough points at FNM. Standard has always been my go to way to play, because it felt like I could keep up with the format. When I was at the table, I had a pretty good idea what cards might hit the field depending on what my opponent is playing, and could reasonably play around those cards.
After recently coming back to Magic a few months ago, I saw what has happened to Standard and it tore me up. This many sets in the "main" format of the game is just too many cards for a lot of reasons. I'm sure you've all heard the spiel, and that's not why I'm here anyway.
I just want to say that this MWM format "On the edge" has made me re-remember why I loved Magic in the first place. It feels more like old Standard, and I've been loving it. The brews have been pretty silly, the decks aren't nearly as consistent, and it's just been fun to enjoy playing again.
Just wanted to do some hope-posting. Hope everyone is having a great week!
