I have been looking for good smooth haired border collie breeders here in US, but it has been a journey of far and few between. I live in a hot humid climate in NW Florida. I worry about having a rough coat here.

But both smooth and rough have an undercoat. My late smooth boy did fine as long as we weren't out in peak heat of the heat in summer. Google searches say smooth coats do a little better in the heat, but not significantly since they both have double coats. Does anyone have any anecdotal information? How does a rough coat do in the heat?
