Did I make a mistake with my upgrade path for CPU and GPU

Upgraded graphics card, CPU and display but I'm worried I maybe should've gone with a AM5 cpu instead and might have buyer's remorse.

Previous Build:

RTX 3060TI

Ryzen 7 3700X

2x16gb ram DDR4 3200 MHz

MSI B550 Gaming Plus Motherboard

Corsair 650W PSU

1080p 27"

New Build has the following new items:

RTX 5070

Ryzen 7 5700X3D

Alienware AW3425D5 3440 x 1440 34" OLED Display

I've added the 5070 and switched out displays so far, but before switching out my CPU I had simple games like Fortnite crash (but this was on the highest possible settings with DLSS set to quality). Is my CPU choice going to be good enough to keep up with ultrawide 1440p gaming for the next few years? I went with this CPU to save some money on not getting a brand-new mother board too and eventual ram upgrade to DDR5 but maybe that was a mistake
