Greetings everyone,

I am an in-house counsel, trained in a foreign jurisdiction, and recently did my masters from the UK and back to my country. SQE seems to be the next logical step but I don't have any plans to move to the UK and practice there. If anything, I believe qualifying SQE would help me find an opportunity at the parent/ Group company (while working in my own country) and could give me massive pay raise. However, I keep hearing from some of my peers that investing so much time and money into SQE in this era of AI (which my company fiercely promotes and develops) is not worth it.

Could you guys share your honest perspective about the same? Is it something worth investing my time and effort into? I did my qualifying law degree years back and being from a common law jurisdiction, I feel qualifying SQE would boost my knowledge and confidence.

My plan B is to apply for the scarcely available MBA funding/ grants. But ofc, I have limited time and energy after a full time job and would like to strategise as to where should I invest my time, effort and money.

Thank you!
