A main city owned water valve burst in my townhome community on Monday. Big leak and we all lost water for a bit. Water came back a couple hours later(dirty, we ran the water for a while to clear out).
We’ve noticed a huge water pressure increase after this repair and we don’t know why. Everything is increased- the shower, the washing machine, the dishwasher, the toilets, etc. it’s to the point that the hoses to our shower and sink are almost jumping in your hand with pressure. What gives? We called the city, they don’t know. They said it’s a gravy fed system so it shouldn’t happen. They want us to call a private plumber. We’ve lived here 7 years without issue until this repair. Any ideas? We are worried about our water usage skyrocketing. Water costs in my city have already gone up so much. Thanks for reading!
**EDIT** I meant to add, I spoke to two neighbors on my street. 1 has not noticed an increase and the other hasn’t paid attention lol but would let me know. No basement in my townhouse
