Last Thursday, I gave my 5th graders a poem of " All About My Special Person" for Mother's day. In it, they had to name the person's favorite color, food, activity etc.

Most responses:

Food: " I don't know."

Color: " I don't know."

After like 5 students telling me they don't know, I just straight up asked them, " You've known this person for 10-11 years of your life.....how do you not know?"

But the last one? Favorite activity?

Either Facebook, Tiktok, Instagram, or cleaning.

Edit: This is not Mom shaming on mother's day. I am shaming these almost middle school kids who need to be more aware of the people who love and care for them.
