Victron MP2 + 48V 5kWh battery for UPS-only, no PV, no export

Victron MP2 + 48V 5kWh battery for UPS-only, no PV, no export

I'm building a power backup for a small stormwater pump using the above parts. As an engineer I'm doing as much I can DIY but will bring in my regular electrician to connect it to the house electrics once I'm confident there is a mutually-understood path to completion.

Can anyone explain the process and timing of applying to the local lines company (Unison) for connecting a Victron Multiplus 2 to the network? I'm trying to figure out how I can test my system off-line, powered with my generator if needed.

Are there any current NZ regulations regarding house battery placement?

I'm intending to arrange a power backup system for my stormwater pump. Is there any NZ regulatory requirements that might affect me placing a 5kWh LFP battery next to the inverter inside a steel electrical enclosure placed in a sheltered outdoor location? I've seen some cabinets using a barrier and wonder if that's a requirement or just nice to have. TIA!
