XL suspension and long range tank upgrade

Hello everyone,

In order to stop the wobbles and actually drive the speed limit on the highway I'm gonna upgrade the suspension. And I thought while I'm at it I'll look into getting a long range tank as well so I can go bush bashing and not worry as much.

Do you have any recommendations for either or have an appropriate cost? Also does anyone know of a good place to get it done/quotes located on the Gold coast Qld?

Hey all,

I have an Aussie 2023 XL and just came back from a camping trip and as soon as i got on the highway and got to speed it started wobbling side to side uncontrollably and had to slow down to about 96km/h max to maintain control. It didnt have that bad of a wobble until i had the car loaded. Although after testing again since ive been back with everything i usually have out the car there was still a wobble but goes away so maybe i did and didnt notice.

A breakdown of what i had on/inside the car.

270 awning + roof bars to total 30kg

225/75r15c goodyear wrangler at silenttrac tires and rims to suit.

30L drawer fridge, batblock, drawers, swag, stretcher, small table, recovery tracks, shovel, and other small miscellaneous camping things.

Am i just overloading the car or is there a bigger issue? From what i can find i should be able to have around a 350kg payload. Which at an estimate i should be at 300kg total including myself.

When the car went in for its service a couple months ago they did say the brakes were wearing quicker than usual (Cant remember which ones) being one end at 4mm the other at 8mm. Not sure if that has anything to do with it?

Any help would be much appreciated!
