Did I experience a connection?

A few nights ago I had a dream that was really strange. My dreams are always hyper realistic, so this one wasn't much different in that sense. However, it was weird because I passed my dog in this house, and he was laying down. He has been dead for a few years and maybe I few weeks ago I was missing him. In this dream after I left the room he was laying in I went to talk to someone, and he ran into the new room I was in all excited. I then felt such a strong feeling that I can't really put into words. It was like a tingly positive anxiety feeling? And I woke up.

At first I thought nothing of it, I drank some water and went back to sleep. Then, I had a similar dream. It was a similar setting, and my dog was there again, happy to see me. It was just such a strange experience, and I don't know if it was just a weird dream or not.

Could psychedelics be evidence?

I say this because there are times when I've gotten high and it doesn't really alter my consciousness or how I think, it feels more like I've lost control of my vessel.

Like I can think completely normally, but my senses give altered input and I can't speak properly because my body seems to be disagreeing with me.

Does anyone else understand this feeling? Could this be evidence that we aren't our vessels, and they experience the drugs while we simply watch?

So everyone (or at least everyone I know) has experienced "the call of the void" where your brain imagines the worst case scenario in a situation. Such as jumping off of a ledge or killing something even if you would never consider those things yourself.

I remember seeing something that said this was the brain preparing itself for any worst-case scenarios, but if our brain controls us then why would it have a need for that? It would just not do those things.

For a long time I've believed that this was evidence that while our brain can affect our consciousness while we're in our body, there is probably something else in our bodies that is our "real" consciousness which would of course be evidence for an afterlife.

Has anyone else thought of this? If not, what are your thoughts about it? I'm curious to know other folks opinions.
