SEN in mainstream vs a SEN school

A job for a SEN TA has opened up nearby. I currently work in the sen provision in a mainstream school. I'll be honest 50% of the stresses from my current role come from lack of school budget - we are so understaffed - across the whole school. There are resources we cant buy due to budget, ect.

This new role had lots of perks as well as a few grand extra a year in pay, and I know sen schools have much better budget allowances.

Has anyone else taken the leap from SEN provision in mainstream, to full on SEN school? Or the other way around? How did you find the change?

Is this normal?

For a SEN provision to have only support staff in? There isn't a teacher for a class of 8 children. They are completely separate from their classes, aside from half an hour a day. We do our own planning teach all of the lessons, set up our own provisions, fill in trackers, do paperwork & meetings (for annual reviews), we hand over to parents, buy our own supplies ect ect. Parents evening is with class teachers but they know nothing about these kids, as they never see them. Its a Primary mainstream school.

Wondered if anyone else was in the same boat!
