Need some advices or guidance
Hi everyone,
I have an appointment next week to apply for the Zoekjaar visa, but before moving forward, I'd like to hear from people who are already in the Netherlands, especially those working in engineering or tech.
I have both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from a university ranked in the top 200, graduated within the last 3 years, so I believe I meet the educational requirements.
My main concern is finding a job once I get there. I've been working in the semiconductor industry for a memory company for almost 2 years now, and I'm looking for a change, hopefully somewhere with a better work culture and more opportunities for career growth.
I've been reading quite a few posts about how difficult it is to find a job in the Netherlands, especially as a foreigner. Honestly, 99% of what I've seen so far has been discouraging, which makes me wonder whether taking this route is worth the risk.
For those already there, especially anyone with a similar background, how realistic is it to find a job in engineering or the semiconductor industry within the orientation year? Would my qualifications and experience give me a decent chance?
Also, are there any job platforms you'd recommend besides LinkedIn and Indeed? With so many ghost job postings these days, it's becoming difficult to know which opportunities are actually real.
I'd really appreciate any advice or personal experiences, whether positive or negative. Just trying to get a realistic picture before making such a big decision.
Thanks in advance!
