I think it came out decent enough to post, how'd i do?

Started this yesterday, just finished the character about an hour ago, still wondering if i should add the background or just leave it as is, leaning towards leaving it. How'd i do so far?

I was doing this drawing of a character from a manga, and i showed it to a friend. They mentioned that something about the face feels off. I noted that i did need to adjust the shadow around the left brow and the shadows around the right side of the face. When i asked for more info my friend said they couldn't really figure out why but the characters face seemed off. Added the original panel i was drawing for reference. I know i have more to work on but this was where i left off before i had to stop for some errands.
