Looking for advice here. I plan to have the net be like a curtain on a track so i can slide it/tuck it away when not in use.

I have 18 inches from where i plan to hang the net and the garage wall. Is there any net type/thickness that can stop a ball in 18 inches? I need it to hold up to 170 mph ball speed or so. Do I need to change my plans? I jave seen people suggest adding a 2nd layer or baffle, but I would really prefer to just have the one net if possible. I was originally planning on buying a 10 foot net and having the bottom ft pool onto yhr concrete (my garage rafters are at 9 ft)
