No1 Mk3 forend markings help
I bought a No1 Mk3 Enfield rifle for cheap but it was sporterized by the stock and tapping it for a scope mount. I'm looking to re stock it to it original military stock. I keep finding forends with this white stripe near the muzzle of the rifle. My understanding was that DP rifles had the white or white and red stripe over the magazine and action of the rifle. Any idea why this stripe is further up, and if it is a DP stock how well would it do to be used firing full power rounds again? Any help id appreciated.
