I'm curious if others use the second layer to make more detailed faces. I started doing it a few years back, because I was tired of the same 2 by 2 eyes and 1 by 2 mouth styles. I get people are used to that style, but I wanted to go further to beat Minecraft skin limits to make the character such as this Disgust skin to look more recognizable than just her color palette

Up next on the Inside Out franchise we have an updated Anxiety! The main changes are one her head shape was slightly tweaked. Two made her eyes similar to the other emotions, where instead of being a plain colored pixel it has an iris, pupil, and white shine in her eye. Third and final made her eyes slightly smaller to make room for the hair
Made this skin of Elsa all the way back in 2022! I think she turned out good! I would've gone with the traditional 1 by 2 mouth and 2 by 2 pixel eyes, but I wanted to try something different. So what I did was place a 1 by 4 pixel mouth on the base layer of the skin I then, placed a 2 pixels on the hat layer right where the 1 by 4 part of the mouth was, I finally placed pixels on the hat layer above the 1 by 4 pixel mouth to make the top part of the lip a bit thinner. This trick kind of gives the skin an HDish look to it since the official Elsa skin from Minecraft has a similar lip design to this. Even though that skin came out way before mine did
