Training Readiness indicator

Runners who use Apple Watch, what app / function do you use to indicate readiness to train?

Garmin does this very well, and now Samsung (Energy Score) and Pixel Watch (via Google Health) also have this.

It's one of the obvious missing features on the AWU.

Garmin: Still better than Apple Watch Ultra 3?

August 2026, UK.

I've been wearing a Garmin for over 3 years - first a MARQ Athlete Gen 2 and latterly a Fenix 8. Best watch for fitness focus and running.

But with superior health features (sleep apnoea, hypertension, AFib History, plus medication logging / reminders), and the rise of capable fitness apps delivering detailed recovery and performance metrics, I'm wondering if the Apple Watch Ultra is now a better option - notwithstanding lack of buttons / battery.

What are the other reasons to remain with Garmin?
