Got an Apple Watch today and I don’t know if I like it

Background: I’ve been a Fitbit user for 12 years starting with the one that just had dots that lit up on your wrist. Eventually I graduated to the smart watches and have been using a Fitbit Versa 4 for the last few years. My last one’s software crashed on Sunday and Fitbit watches are being phased out by 2028, so I figured I’d go ahead and switch over to the Apple Watch. I have an iPhone and AirPods already so it seemed like the best choice. I really loved my Fitbit though.

I got it today and got it set up and I’m not loving it so far. After about an hour, I turned off almost all of the notifications. I can’t find a watch face I like at all. I want something similar to Fitbit that shows all of my metrics without it being the Apple rings.

I primarily used my Fitbit to track workouts, health metrics like steps and heart rate, and sleep tracking. I liked being able to read texts occasionally and really like knowing what time it is. I’m a school-based speech therapist so I’m constantly waking around my building and doing timed sessions. I also have a 3-year-old which keeps me busy and away from my phone a lot. Should I keep the Apple Watch or switch to a random fitness tracker watch? Would love the opinions of other Apple Watch users about features that could be helpful to me, or if it sounds like what I want to use it for is not nearly as much as what a typical Apple Watch user requires?
