I just picked up this sexy ripper X and for funsies I decided to see if the method idol core would work in it.

Turns out it does, kind of. But I could use some help seeing if there's a way to make it actually work.

Slapping the whole core, stock bolt back and cap included, from my idol into the X worked just fine. I'm sure there's some dwell setting or something I could tweak to make it better but I was able to adjust the velocity and it was shooting great.

As soon as I tried to put the method core onto the X bolt cap and back it just pours air out the barrel. I'm assuming some oring doesn't quite line up anymore.

Any of you paintball geniuses and gun techs out there have any ideas on what I could do to get this to work properly?

UPDATE: I swapped x bolt cap onto the idol bolt back to see if it would even fit and it does and stops the air down the barrel problem. So it's something with the bolt back that seems to be the big difference. Any idea where I can buy a bolt back? 😂
