Hi everyone! I’m an international student and this is my first semester at UWA, so I’m still getting used to the parking rules around campus.

I parked on Hackett Drive today in a P15 spot and unfortunately stayed longer than the 15-minute limit. I completely understand that I was in the wrong for overstaying and I'm happy to take responsibility for that.

However, I received two $60 City of Perth fines for the same offence, one at 10:21 am and another at 10:51 am. The car hadn't moved in between, so that's $120 from the same parking incident within 30 minutes.

Has anyone here had something similar happen around UWA/Hackett Drive? If so, did you appeal the second fine, and was the City of Perth willing to waive it or give a warning?

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences from other students. Thank you!

Has anyone taken ENVT4461 – Assessing Environmental Quality?

I'm wondering what to expect from the unit. Specifically:

* What software is used or taught?

* What kind of maths or statistics should I be familiar with before starting?

I'm starting my first semester at UWA and will be moving to a new country at the same time, so I'm trying not to overwhelm myself with the workload. I badly need everyone’s help.

I'm planning to take:

ENVT4421 – Fundamentals of Environmental Management

ENVT4422 – Research Methods in Agricultural and Environmental Science

ENVT4406 – Using Drones for Catchment and Environmental Management

SCIE4403 – Ethical Conduct and Communication in Science

For anyone who's done these units, especially ENVT4422 and ENVT4406, do they require prior GIS knowledge? How much GIS is actually used in the units?

Also, does this look like a reasonable first-semester combination in terms of workload, or would you recommend swapping anything out?

Hi everyone, in my first semester i would be taking ENVT 4411 & 4422. Which GIS software is taught in this 4411? Also would it be wise to take these both units in my first semester?

Hi everyone, would be starting MSc Environmental Science from July 2026 semester 2. Any tips and tricks to survive the first year and how to do well in this course? Also would be glad if anyone could provide insight into job prospects after completion of this course. I am an International Student.
