Abandoned house at Oakdale Cotton Mill Village, NC USA

Tested the new darkroom-in-a-box setup. Works pretty well! Temperature was near 100 F and 100% humidity so didn’t stay out there too long. This was the best of a few shots from today.
135mm Graflex Optar, f/16 60 sec.

My first cyanotype print from a wet plate collodion negative!

My mom and dog. 10 second exposure was too long for puppy to sit still. The negative had a dark spot, but I was able to make a mask and almost entirely “1850’s photoshop” it out of the second print!

Pyrogallol redevelopment demonstration video with recipes and references

I posted yesterday about the success I had in making high-density negatives suitable for contact printing with the cyanotype process.

I was never able to find a modern demo or explanation of pyro redevelopment so I figured it out and made my own youtube video on the topic! https://youtu.be/El5_LmK9sN4

Please forgive my janky editing "skills"!

Pyro redevelopment is a game-changer!

My pyrogallol order from B&S came in, and I am finally able to consistently get dense negatives! Lucked out with this contact print, my first one- think I nailed the exposure, and am super super happy with the result

Negative is roughly sixth-plate, using 4y old UVP-X collodion. Slightly overcast day, shot in the late afternoon. 10 seconds f/4.7 Graflex Optar 135mm. Ferrous sulfate developer followed by KI/H2O2/Acetic acid bleaching, reexposure, and pyro/citric acid redevelopment.
