Looking for a good camera for trail running and hiking

  • Budget: Around 1000€. This budget needs to cover the camera and a first lens.
  • Country: France.
  • Condition: New or used (no strict preference, as long as it fits the budget).
  • Type of Camera: Mirrorless (interchangeable lens system).
  • Intended use: Primarily photography.
    • Photography style: Mainly landscapes, distant mountain peaks, and wildlife during trails and hikes. I also want to use it for everyday life/lifestyle photography outside of trail running.
    • Video style: Not a priority.
  • What features do you absolutely need:
    • Weather sealing (durable/rugged) to withstand mountain weather like dust, sweat, and light rain.
    • Good zoom capabilities to capture distant peaks and wildlife.
  • What features would be nice to have: An evolutive system so I can easily buy and add other lenses later for everyday photography.
  • Portability: Highly compact and lightweight. It needs to fit easily into a trail running vest/pack without bouncing around too much while running.
  • Cameras you're considering: Canon EOS R10. However, I'm worried it might be too fragile due to its lack of weather-sealing, and too bulky with a zoom lens when running.
  • Cameras you already have: None, this will be my very first camera.
  • Notes: As a complete beginner, I am looking for something relatively accessible but capable of handling demanding outdoor conditions.

Hardware to run QT + Yolo inference

Hello everyone,

I'm learning QT and want to apply it to a real usecase.

My goal is to build a program that receive a video stream and run a yolo on this stream.

So I can display on my interface : the video captured by my camera and a map with informations of locations I saw a bird or the target object we want to see.

The final objective is to use hardware to run the code, plug a camera and a GPS and let the project run when I walk.

But I don't know wich hardware choose. It's very expensive and I want to make the right choice (and maybe reuse the hardware for other projects).

I was thinking about a Raspberry Pi 5 8Gb, but it's expensive and maybe I can run this project in another device.

If you have some knowledge, please let me know :)

Question Dofus des glaces

Hello,

I'm currently working on the Ice Dofus questline and have reached Frigost 3!

I had two questions:

- Are the dungeons much harder than those in Frigost 2? I run a duo team: an Earth AoE damage dealer and a Crit-build Steamer.

- Are the remaining quests long?

I don't really have a sense of what's left to do, so if you have any answers, I'd love to hear them! 💪

Looking for a light ai agent library

Hello everybody,

I have a project I want to integrate LLM agent in. The problem is really simple : give some functions tools to my agent to finally generate a json payload.

It's really simple but I don't know any rust library to do this. Do you know something to do this easily without huge dependencies ?

Ollama integration into Chainything

I just added new processors in Chainything, my Rust framework and UI developed to generate a DAG and execute workflow easily using reusable pieces.

You can now use Ollama as an LLM provider to use LLM nodes in the UI, or use these processors directly with the Chainything library.

I'll add some new features soon to extend its capabilities.

Chainything new feature : 3D Rendering

I just added new processors in Chainything, my Rust framework and UI developed to generate a DAG and execute workflow easily using reusable pieces.

You can now load and visualize 3D objects into the UI or use these new processors with the library chainything.

Chainything | A DAG Pipeline Engine for Rust with visual editor

Hey,

I just published Chainything, a rust-based DAG pipeline execution engine with an integrated visual node editor (built with egui).

What is it?

Think of it like n8n but lightweight, Rust-native, and focused on data processing.

Chain operations together visually or programmatically.

The architecture makes it easy to add custom processors.

Features

  • Automatic topological sorting (Kahn's algorithm)
  • Visual node editor
  • Strong typing + type erasure for flexibility
  • Extensible processor architecture
  • No external runtime dependencies

Try it

cargo add chainything

# or run the UI:

cargo run --package chainything-ui

What's next

It's actually under development, so there isn't so many processors yet implemented.

So, I'm looking for contributors ! If you're interested in :

  • Adding processors (image filters, CSV/JSON parsing, ML inference, LLM, ...)
  • Improving the UI
  • Building integrations

Check out CONTRIBUTING.md

Struggling adding dependencies

Hi everyone, I'm currently learning C++ 17 and I'm trying to write a code that modify a matrix and display it using gtk library.

But I don't know how to add external dependencies like gtk...

I use cmake and just modified my CMakeLists.txt :

```
cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.15)
project(tacforge)
set(CMAKE_CXX_STANDARD 17)
set(CMAKE_CXX_STANDARD_REQUIRED ON)
enable_testing()
include(FetchContent)
FetchContent_Declare(
  googletest
  URL https://github.com/google/googletest/archive/refs/tags/v1.14.0.zip
)
FetchContent_MakeAvailable(googletest)
find_package (PkgConfig REQUIRED)
pkg_check_modules (gtk4 REQUIRED IMPORTED_TARGET gtk4)
find_package (peel REQUIRED)
peel_generate (Gtk 4.0 RECURSIVE)
```

But I have this issue :

```
-- Checking for module 'gtk4'
--   Found gtk4, version 4.22.4
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:20 (find_package):
  By not providing "Findpeel.cmake" in CMAKE_MODULE_PATH this project has
  asked CMake to find a package configuration file provided by "peel", but
  CMake did not find one.
  Could not find a package configuration file provided by "peel" with any of
  the following names:
peel.cps
peelConfig.cmake
peel-config.cmake
  Add the installation prefix of "peel" to CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH or set
  "peel_DIR" to a directory containing one of the above files.  If "peel"
  provides a separate development package or SDK, be sure it has been
  installed.
```

I just installed dependencies on my mac using brew install so I have gtk4 installed. But what I need to understand is how to link this source code to my CMakeLists.txt and ensure it's robust when someone will try to execute my code. I don't have best practices.
