I feel like there have been a rise in awful book covers recently. Feels like many of the newer books I see have this really awful AI looking cover with 2 people standing in front of something. Either a building, a city landscape or something. They all look very same-y. It makes me not want to read the books, even though they are potentially good. Anyone else having the same experience? I guess it is mostly lesser know authors that have this issue.

I am not saying all books with two people on the cover is bad but it feels like a certain style has become popular and it is really bad. If I try to pinpoint one of the issues is that the characters are not interacting in any way, they are just cut-outs of 2 people who seem really disconnected. I might not be explaining this well.

And to break out from this. Can you recommend me any of these awful cover books that you think is great and that I should give a chance?

Having finished listening to the Senator's Wife books I started thinking about some of my favorite side characters that I wished could get books of their own. For example Amelia Walker from the Senators Wife. I love her so much and would really like to read more about her! I hope for a lot of Amelia in the next book of the series.

Another character I wish could get her own book is Heather from Wrong Number, Right Woman by Jae. She has been in a couple of books now and I am just waiting for her very own story.

I guess characters from book series where each book is about a different friend in a group doesn't count, unless there is a character in those that didn't get their own book.

Do you guys have any side characters that you would like to see more from, see their point of view in a way you haven't before?
