HPSP (Clinical Psychology) DCC question
Hello! I have a question regarding DCC attendance with the HPSP scholarship. I hope this is the right place for this.
I am a recipient of the 2-year HPSP scholarship for Clinical Psychology. I am a fourth year and have already applied to and matched with an army internship site. I was supposed to go to DCC in July and proceed to my internship site after.
Unfortunately, on the last day of classes I began to have pain in my leg which led to the discovery of a clot. Additional clots were found in my arms, neck, and lungs. I will for sure be on blood thinners for the next 6 months, with a chance for 2 years pending blood tests, and my mobility and strength have been significantly reduced. I have been in contact with the appropriate channels (recruiter, internship program director, HRC, etc.) and am scheduled for a comprehensive medical evaluation at a military hospital soon.
I have many questions about this situation as I am trying to plan for many different scenarios. First, is possible to go to DCC with a profile like this one? If not, would I have to wait another year to start internship or could I start without DCC? Is there a possibility that I will be med-boarded and removed completely?
Any general advice about this situation would be very helpful.
Thanks!
