The Sleeping Venus, also known as the Dresden Venus, is a painting traditionally attributed to the Italian Renaissance painter Giorgione, although it has long been widely thought that Titian completed it after Giorgione's death in 1510. The landscape and sky are generally accepted to be mainly by Titian.

A masterful example of Rococo sensuality, depicting the moment Jupiter disguises himself as Diana to seduce the unsuspecting nymph. Original French title, "La Nymphe Callisto, séduite par Jupiter sous les traits de Diane".

"Diana Bathing" serves as the official English title used by the Louvre Museum in Paris, where the original painting permanently hangs.

While the exact literal translation of the French title (Diane sortant du bain) is "Diana Leaving the Bath," major art historians and reference catalogs prefer the simpler, more direct "Diana Bathing".
