Black palm

My first, and probably last time, turning black palm. It looks really cool, but wow can tear out happen so very quick and easy!

New growth redwood

A few months ago while on a road trip up to Northern California I saw a guy on the side of the road carving animals out of redwood, so I stopped and asked if he'd sell some chunks of it. To my delight he said yes! I got 2 large chunks of old and new growth for $40! This is the first bowl out of the new growth. My only issue is it tears super easy, and because of the growth rings it makes it super difficult to apply carnauba wax while spinning because of all the bumps. I'm still super happy about it.

Quite the variety

Probably my most ambitious bowl yet! It's made up of curly maple, canary wood, Santos mahogany, black limba, Peruvian walnut, zebrawood, padauk, and white oak! I didn't measure enough when I glued it altogether, so it forced me to buy a brand new bandsaw (oh poor me...!) It's not as big in diameter as I was hoping, but for a first it's pretty badass if I do say so myself!

A little walnut here, some cherry there

Sometimes an idea just pops in my head and I'm like yup, gotta try it!
