hello everyone, I posted here last May with a 1 in 5 chance of DS from the results of our FTS ultrasound and blood works. I didn’t get any NIPT or any invasive testing. Since then, we prayed for our sweet baby every day. We had our 20 week Congenital Anomaly Scan in the end of June and everything looked normal, and we found out that he is a boy, after two girls we were overjoyed to have a boy to complete our family. The only concern was he has a short nasal bone, but for us it really isn’t a big concern because we are Filipinos and we tend to have small noses. We felt relieved even though they still didn’t lower the odds for DS for our baby. We decided to get a private 5D ultrasound at 27 weeks to see if our baby is growing accordingly, we were so happy to see him just thriving and growing just right, and what an amazing feeling to sneak a peek of his cute little face. We cannot wait to meet our sweet baby boy.

Thank you all.🩵

Just looking for some relief

Hello everyone, I am glad to have found this reddit thread.

3 days ago, we found out on our first trimester screening that our baby has a 1 in 5 or 20% chance of having DS. I didn’t quite understand everything they were telling me then, and it took a day for me to let it all sinked in.

the results were 1.6 mm for the nuchal transparency

nasal bone absent/hypoplastic

Free beta HCG 63.52 IU/I, MoM 1.550

PAPP-A 0.422 IU/1, MoM 0.319

during our ultrasound, baby‘s hand was mostly in its face and they had a hard time viewing the nasal bone because of it, the baby’s position made it also hard for them to get a clear view.

about me, I am 32 yrs old, non smoking, non drinker and living a relatively healthy lifestyle. As well as my husband. We have 2 perfectly healthy daughters, 6 and 2. I also have graves disease but I am currently not taking medication as my T3 and T4 levels are normal.

during my first pregnancy, I had velamentous cord insertion, posterior placenta. and on my second I had preterm contractions around 18 weeks. I gave birth through c-section for both.

My husband and I talked about what is the next step for us, we’ve decided to wait for the 20 week anatomy scan to see if anything changes in our odds then we will take the NIPT then.

I am just here looking for success stories of having false positive results in the first trimester screening to feel some kind of relief from all of these…

thank you for reading.
