I’m looking for some expert feedback
I’m working on a heavy Gourmand/Amber formula and I’d love to get your thoughts on its balance and projection
Here is my formula percentage (relative to the concentrate):
Hedione: 27.52%
Iso Nonyl Acetate: 16.75%
Timber Silk: 15.23%
Benzyl Salicylate: 8.95%
Aldehyde C16: 7.80%
Ethyl Vanillin: 6.04%
Coumarine: 5.45%
2-Ethyl-2-Methyl Butyrate: 4.02%
Benzyl Acetate: 3.10%
Benzoin: 1.80%
Ethyl Maltol: 1.80%
Linalool: 1.54%
I used an overdose of Hedione to add airiness and push the heavy base
Timber Silk (15.23%) forms the backbone to help the Ethyl Vanillin, Coumarin, and Benzoin project
Linalool and Benzyl Salicylate were added as blenders to tie the whole formula together
Do you see any potential issues with this blend? I’m slightly worried that the heavy balsamic and sweet materials (Ethyl Vanillin, Coumarin, Ethyl Maltol, Benzoin) might muffle the performance or lead to quick olfactory fatigue
Does the top note selection have enough presence to keep the opening bright and clear?
