I'm 25 with a B.Com and 3+ years of work experience. How should I build a career in Economics from here?

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some honest advice about how I should approach Economics as a possible long-term career.

I'm 25 and currently working full-time as a Content Writer/SEO professional. I have around 3+ years of professional experience. My current job actually pays fairly well, especially considering the current job market, and I have a stable remote position. So I'm not looking to change careers because I'm unhappy with my current financial situation or because I can't find work.

Instead, I've been thinking seriously about Economics because it's a subject I've genuinely liked for a long time. I enjoyed Economics in high school, and now that I've started studying it again, I'm finding that I still really enjoy it. I'm wondering whether I could eventually build a career around it.

My academic background is:

  • B.Com from Delhi University (School of Open Learning)
  • CGPA: 6.515
  • Studied Economics, Business Studies and Accountancy in high school
  • Had Economics and some quantitative subjects during my B.Com
  • I did not study Mathematics in Classes 11–12

I'm currently studying MIT OpenCourseWare's Principles of Microeconomics independently and working through lectures, readings, problem sets and numerical questions.

The confusing part is figuring out what I should actually do from here.

What do you guys use to organize your writing + visuals?

I'm working on a couple of fiction projects and I'm trying to figure out where to keep all my stuff without ending up with 5 different apps. 😭

I want somewhere I can keep things like:

  • character profiles
  • relationships
  • story/chapter ideas
  • timelines
  • locations
  • worldbuilding/lore
  • character habits and little details
  • images/concept art
  • location references
  • moodboards
  • maps, etc.

Basically, I want to be able to open a character's page and have their notes + pictures/visual references in the same place.

I've been looking at Notion, Miro, Obsidian, Campfire, Scrivener, etc. Right now I'm leaning towards Notion, but I'm wondering if I'm overcomplicating things.

For those of you who've been doing this for a while:

What do you actually use?

And if you've used Notion/Obsidian/Campfire/etc. for a big project, how has it held up once you had a lot of characters, notes, images and lore?

Also, would you recommend keeping everything in one app, or do you think it's better to have something like Notion for writing/worldbuilding and Miro for the visual side?

Would love to hear what has actually worked for you guys rather than just the usual "X is the best" recommendations. 😅
