Homura's Endgame Theory
Guys, my brain is brain rotting and I started to think that maybe at the end game Homura will be revealed as a master of the universe itself.
I mean think about it, since the series Homura has been repeating timeline but you actually can see it as all this time she has been creating an alternate timelines and not just repeating it. Like if you think about it on meta level Magia Record, or Oriko Magica takes place in one of her timelines meaning she created those alternate universe accidentally. Also Homura is the only character that never dies or even changes, she is constant, while the others change constantly and a lot of it because of her. She doesn't follow the script, the script follows her.
Now take a look at Devil Homura soul gem shape it's shaped like a black king in a chess. And yk what a king's role in chess, it's the center piece of the game. If the king is gone there's no game to play. Interestingly madokami is a white queen too. And considering the writer (one sick twisted dude) it makes sense that this is how they conclude Homura character, by giving the most suicidal character who sees zero values in herself the biggest value and responsibility imaginable. It's like the equivalent of telling a suicidal person that if they're gone their love one would follow. Also with this technically they can say every tragedy that she occurred came from her, she's just unaware of it. And all this time she's fighting herself.
It would be very ironic too with what Homura said at the end of rebellion to Madoka "I will keep on wishing for a world where you can be happy" and turns out she's not just wishing for it but creating it.

Why do a lot of people think the next movie gonna show Madoka as the one with moral high ground???
I see a lot of people talk as if the next movie will be Madoka disagreeing with Homura and eventually revert things back. Like, that's it lol. Do we even watch the same show? Written by the most unhinged writer in anime industry?
Like, do you guys ever watch any Urobuchi works??? Lol.
Psycho pass, fate zero???
Those shows got either the antagonist literally straight up won or their philosophical belief proven to be right.
Homura philosophy is actually similar to Makishima Shogo btw, which basically something about humanity shouldn't be bound by system or rules, shown in rebellion ending when she asked Madoka if she thinks it's ok to do things just because you want to (or something along those lines), which Madoka disagreed with and Homura just accepted that one day they will be enemies.
Homura has reached absolute conviction, what Madoka thinks or feels about it won't change her standing. And in Urobuchi works that means she is actually the one that has the moral high ground.
If anything I would bet the next movie would follow something similar like urobuchi previous works, that Homura philosophy is right to a certain point if not straight up right tbh. But the consequences are too big, or etc, plot stuff related, so things need to be stopped or changed or whatever, most likely by Madoka by inheriting Homura's philosophy (just like in psycho pass the only way Kogami stops Makishima is by abandoning his duty as the defender of the system itself and reject it, proving Makishima to be right after all).

Whats With All The Homuras ????
Okay, I’ve been rewatching the trailers, and this is the one question absolutely breaking everyone's (or at least my) brain. But I think I actually figured it out.
Remember how Rebellion was inspired by The Nutcracker ballet? Well, WnK is heavily rumored to be based on Swan Lake. Madoka is literally wearing the Swan Lake ballet uniform in the concept poster.
So, what is Swan Lake even about? Well, in a literal sense, it's a story about a prince who sees the woman beneath their swan appearance, but later gets deceived by someone else pretending to be her, then there's magic, curses, etc. It has a lot of things going on, but in a deeper sense, Swan Lake is a story about recognition.
And I think WnK will also be a story about recognition, specifically asking: "What is Akemi Homura?"
Homura is Fragmented ???
I think those look-alikes aren't alternate universe copies or impostors. They are all her, yet none of them are the complete her.
Imagine if WnK took place after thousands or more reality alterations after Rebellion because maybe despite everything, Madoka still cannot be saved or keep dying. And every alterations she influence the universe by giving a chunk of herself. That's where those Homuras in WnK come from, they're entities that have her fragments. Meaning they have what makes Homura, but not entirely the whole Homura. Conceptually, it's like a broken vase, each piece is part of a vase but none are the whole vase.
You can even say Homura is no longer a person but a phenomenon, one that the universe adapts to, and now the actual Homura is no longer whole or maybe no longer a single individual. The imagery of the universe wrapped in a face that looks like her, also supports this imo
And I think this is where Madoka's role is gonna be, to find, wait no, to recognize Homura, despite the impossibility (because atp, the true Homura doesn't actually exist). And gradually by recognizing Homura she also will recognize herself along the way. Why? Because their fates are intertwined. Like, f you know who Homura is, her journey, her mission, etc, everything leads to Madoka. And vice versa, if you know Madoka's journey from the beginning to now you will know who Homura is.
Yk what, I think I might have to correct myself. I think it's not the story that will be asking "What is Akemi Homura?" I think it's gonna be Madoka that will be asking that. So, maybe the story is actually gonna be about
- “What's Homura to Madoka” , and to answer that, the story will also be about
- “What's Madoka to Homura".
Again, recognition.
Well, I definitely could be very much wrong, like duh, I'm not Urobuchi lol, but I genuinely believe my deduction has merits regardless of whether I'm gonna be wrong or right. Anyway, I just feel the need to share my late night though lol.
