How walkable is Sandton?
We're (liberal, Trump-hating) American, super excited to be coming to your lovely city/ country/ continent for the first time in a few weeks. I'm an anthropologist so I'll be doing some work in the Cradle and at Wits.
Our first few days (before a safari in Pilanesberg!), we'll be staying in Sandton. Wondering how walkable Sandton is... would we be able to safely walk to Woolies for snacks and or Sandton Center (or Mandela Square, which also seems close)? We're getting conflicting information about safety and logistical walkability (sidewalks, motorways, traffic, etc) from fellow anthropologists. We're definitely not opposed to using Uber but also enjoy waking (especially after a long plane ride)... any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful!
