Plex server is local, but PS5 only connects indirectly?

Plex server is local, but PS5 only connects indirectly?

I’m having an issue with Plex that I can’t quite work out.
My Plex Media Server is running in Docker on a Mac Mini, but the Mac Mini is not running macOS. It is being used as a Linux server.

Plex Media Server running in Docker
Docker server: 192.168.1.191
LG TV IP: 192.168.1.214
PS5 IP: 192.168.1.229
NAS IP: 192.168.1.135

All devices are connected by Ethernet

All devices are connected through the same unmanaged 5-port switch
Everything appears to be on the same 192.168.1.x network

Plex works perfectly on my LG TV. It appears to connect locally/directly to the Plex server and playback is fine.
However, when I use Plex on my PS5, it says the connection is Indirect and appears to be going through Plex Relay. It then gives me issues around needing Plex Pass / indirect playback limits.

I don’t understand why this is happening, because the PS5, LG TV, NAS, and Plex Docker server are all wired into the same switch and appear to be on the same local network.

I’m 5’11 and started at around 107.5 kg. Goal is 86 kg.

Currently just over 6 weeks in. First week was on 2.5 mg and it was rough. Constant indigestion and genuinely the worst sulphur burps I’ve ever had.

Appetite suppression worked, but the side effects were the dominant experience. Drinking a lot more water helped take the edge off, but it was still grim.

Now on 5.0 mg. Side effects have reduced but not disappeared. Still getting some fatigue and feeling noticeably weaker, especially in the gym. Energy dips are real.

Big improvement this week was getting back into the gym. Priority is maintaining muscle mass while the weight drops. Strength is down slightly, but consistency matters more right now than performance.

One thing that’s become clear is how much variation you get from weigh-ins. Locking it down to first thing in the morning, after waking up, same conditions every day, made the trend actually readable. Without that, the fluctuations mess with your head.

Progress so far:
~107.5 kg → ~102.8 kg in just over 6 weeks

My takeaways so far:
First week can be brutal. Don’t judge the whole process off that.

Hydration makes a measurable difference to side effects.

Gym is worth keeping, even if performance drops.

Expect fatigue. Plan around it rather than fighting it.
Weigh at the same time daily or don’t bother tracking trends.

Appetite suppression is strong, but you still need to think about protein intake or strength will fall off quickly.

Overall it’s working, but it’s not effortless. There’s a trade-off between progress and how you feel day-to-day.
