How can you tell if a miner is actually working? What does the screen tell you?

It took me forever and waaaaaaaay too many resets to get my Miner past the 80% glitch. It was running fine for about 10 days, and then it just went back to the factory home screen with the QR code.
When I try to reboot, it gets to 24% and stops, and says "can't connect to wifi".
Any ideas?

And yes, I have searched for this common problem, and still don't have a solution.

I have tried 20+ different pool addresses with no luck. What else could it be?

I watch the loading process, and it always stops on the pool address, so that must be the cause, but . . .
