NEW PERMANENT PICTORIAL CANCELLATION (PPC)- SHREE PADMANABHASWAMY TEMPLE 📮

New Permanent Pictorial Cancellation (PPC) along with a Special Cover featuring the Shree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram, is being released on 10th August 2026 at "Thiruvananthapuram Fort Post Office", Kerala with Pin: 695023.

Since this is a Permanent Pictorial Cancellation, collectors who cannot visit the post office personally can request the cancellation by post.

How to request it by post:

Write a letter addressed to THE POSTMASTER, THIRUVANANTHAPURAM FORT POST OFFICE, requesting the Permanent Pictorial Cancellation.
Enclose the postcards/covers on which you want the cancellation.
Enclose a self-addressed return envelope with sufficient postage for the post office to return your cancelled items.
Fold the return envelope and place it inside the main envelope along with your letter and postcards. Make sure everything first properly.
For the return postage, ₹5 may work for a lightweight return (2-3 Postcards) while ₹10-₹12 would be safer if you are sending multiple postcards, The exact postage depends on the weight.
You can check the required postage using the India Postage Calculator according the weight.

EMO(Electronic Money Order) may also be another option for requesting the cancellation, but I am not personally familiar with the exact procedure for using EMO for this purpose. So if anyone has experience with this method, please share the procedure in the comments.

I used to send international postcards from India for ₹15 through India Post. I discovered today that its takes ₹24 now..

Is ₹24 the current international postcard rate, or does it vary by destination? Has anyone mailed one recently?
