Find my and Lost Phone randomly going off
So, there are two other adults and two children in my family on family sharing. There have been multiple times where find my and lost mode have gone off on all the phones. Sometimes all at once. I got frustrated with it constantly going off for no reason, so I turned off stolen device protection and find my.
The last couple times the other members in the family sharing received an alert for lost mode, and it showed my phone number to call. I have no idea how my number was put on there, but I definitely didn’t input it.
My question is, does anyone know why the hell my number would show up on the lost mode alert when I never initiated the alert?
FYI- We have all changed our passwords and it still keeps happening. Also, I have already checked my devices that my Apple ID is logged into, and it only shows my phone.
I saw an old thread on this page with hundreds of people having the same issue of find my and lost mode randomly going off on their phones. Is this still happening to people and did we ever find out why it is happening? Is it an Apple glitch? Or do y’all think that someone else in my family sharing group is making them go off and blaming me? HELPPPPP
