I can’t believe how much of the merch at summer nationals this year was AI generated. I included three examples, but there were many more. “It looks bad” is a massive understatement, it’s genuinely embarrassing for USFA. There are so many artists and creatives in the fencing community who can make incredible, amazing art and would KILL for the opportunity to create designs for the biggest tournament of the year… but instead we get this. People are going to wear these shirts in public, and it’s an awful look for the fencing community (and Portland, where I happen to be from). This was my first summer nationals after an eight year break, and it makes me incredibly sad that the AI slop mind virus has infected USA fencing :(
