Understanding Ulm's safety and transportation system
Hi everyone!
I am an incoming international Uni Ulm student. I already got a housing offer, but I'm continuing my research to find something more comfortable location- and spacewise.
I find offers from Lehr and Mähringen quite interesting due to their location, but they seem unpopular. I like that these locations offers outdoors sport activities and are actually close to the uni. I also think I can deal with "small town" drawbacks such as limited nightlife and shops.
But I am worried about safety. Being a single woman, I'm worried about travelling home in the evening. For exaple, if I stay at the university until 20-22 pm, will it be safe to ride home on a bike through the fields (I can't drive a car)? In my hometown the farther in the suburbs you go, the higher chances to be followed by some creep or assaulted are. But maybe it's different in small German towns?
Thanks everyone!! You're really helpful. Replies are still welcome.
