Do you actually match your fish food's protein percentage to the species you keep?

I've noticed that a lot of aquarium foods advertise "high protein" as if it's automatically better.

But different fish have different nutritional needs.

For example:

Herbivores generally need lower protein.

Carnivores naturally require much higher levels.

Do you pay attention to protein percentages when buying fish food, or do you mostly stick with trusted brands?

I'd love to hear what experienced hobbyists look for.

Does anyone else find aquariums genuinely relaxing?

I originally got into fishkeeping because I liked the look of aquariums.

But over time, I realized the biggest benefit wasn't the fish—it was how relaxing the tank became.

Sometimes I'll just sit and watch:

Neon Tetras schooling

Corydoras foraging

Angelfish gliding through plants

and it completely changes my mood after a stressful day.

Has anyone else experienced this?

What's the most relaxing fish or aquarium setup you've ever kept?

Do Catfish really survive on leftovers?

I've heard many hobbyists say Catfish don't need special food because they'll just eat whatever reaches the bottom.

But from what I've seen, most Catfish seem to do much better with dedicated sinking foods and veggie-based diets.

For Catfish keepers:

What foods have worked best for your species?

Do you use veggie wafers, spirulina foods, protein treats, or a mix?

Which fish do you find the most relaxing to watch?

I'm curious what everyone thinks.

For me, watching a school of Neon Tetras move together is incredibly calming.

Others seem to prefer:

Bettas

Discus

Angelfish

Goldfish

Corydoras

If you were building an aquarium purely for relaxation and stress relief, which fish would you choose and why?

What made you fall in love with Betta fish?

For me, it wasn't just the colors.

I was surprised by how much personality Bettas seem to have compared to many other fish.

Things I find fascinating:

they recognize movement

they flare when curious or territorial

every Betta seems to have a different personality

huge variety of colors and fin types

For Betta keepers:

What was the thing that got you hooked on Bettas?
