I ported Beautiful UI's AI chat components to Angular 21 (signals, zoneless, no Tailwind)

Hey r/angular,

I've been building AI chat features in Angular for our platform and I have found out about [Beautiful UI](https://www.beautifului.dev) by Shane Levine, which was really beautiful (I mean, it's in the name), but it was created for React + Tailwind only. So I decided to try and port it to Angular and open-source it.

**ngx-beautiful-ui** has 27 standalone components for AI-native interfaces:

- **Chat:** chat panel, prompt bar with attachments, user bubbles, streaming markdown (marked + DOMPurify), inline source citations

- **Agent status:** loading and "thinking" states, tool-call chips with a hover diff preview, task rows, approval cards for human-in-the-loop questions, recommendation cards, code blocks with diffs

- **Building blocks:** buttons, chip select, glide menu, value pills and a few more

How it's built:

- Signal inputs and models, `OnPush` everywhere, works zoneless

- The prompt bar and chip select work with signal forms (`[formField]`)

- Plain SCSS: every colour, size and duration is a `--bui-*` CSS variable, so theming means overriding tokens

- No Tailwind or UI framework dependency, and the icons are inline, so there are no assets to copy

**Live demo:** https://djordjejanjic.github.io/ngx-beautiful-ui/

**GitHub:** https://github.com/djordjejanjic/ngx-beautiful-ui

**Install:** `npm i ngx-beautiful-ui`

A few honest caveats: it's an unofficial port with no affiliation to the original authors, and it was built with AI assistance (I would not have time to do this without AI assistance). Code was also reviewed manually. It needs Angular 21.2+ and only has a light theme for now; a dark theme is next.

I'd really appreciate feedback: API design, anything that feels un-Angular, accessibility issues, or components you'd want next. Issues and PRs are always welcome.

GhostDeck: offline music player with the classic deck layout and 3D low-poly worlds behind your album

I'm a solo developer with interest in building some cool low-poly graphics for Mac apps (maybe even a game later on). That's how GhostDeck came about! It is out on the Mac App Store.

Problem
I keep my music as files (FLAC and MP3), and every Mac player I tried was either a big library manager or a plain list with a play button. I wanted the kind of player I grew up with: the late-90s deck layout with a 10-band EQ and a playlist as separate windows that snap together. Behind the album there's a 3D pane where the cover turns into a jewel case over a low-poly world that reacts to the music. There are five worlds, for now (synthwave, moonlit forest, dunes with a chrome skull, rainy neon city, deep sea), and each one reskins the deck.

Comparison
Swinsian is the better pick if you want a full library manager with smart playlists and tag editing. GhostDeck doesn't manage a library: you point it at folders and press play. Cog is free and very light, but it's a plain list. GhostDeck is similarly light (about 12 MB, native Swift and Metal, 30 fps when idle), but it has the deck and the worlds. No account, no analytics, no network access, and it only sees the folders you open.

Formats: MP3, AAC/M4A, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, CAF, AC3. M3U in and out. macOS 14 or later, Apple silicon and Intel.

Known gap: FLAC tags and embedded covers don't show yet (a cover.jpg in the folder works). That fix is in the next update, coming next week.

Pricing
$3.99 / €4.99 one-time (depends on the store), all worlds included, no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Site with video and privacy policy: https://ghost-deck.app

I have 5 promo codes for anyone curious. Comment with the world you'd want next and I'll DM you one.

Happy to answer questions. If you try it, tell me which world you'd want next!

Client expectations with photo/video storage

Hi, I'm really interested in this question, how do you handle the situation when client comes up to you after few years and asks for their photos/videos again, because he lost some of it on a flash, dead PC, etc?

Do you have those photos, are you storing it anywhere for longer period of times, and if so, what is the cost of that storage? I suppose no one is really storing RAWs, only JPEGs, but still, you can only store so much for some period of time.
