Woodpecker chick actualization

Hello everyone!

10 days ago I posted here asking for advice in order to save a couple of woodpecker chicks that were given to me since the tree they were living was destroyed.

As I said that day, the options were to keep them and try to save them by myself or let them die.

Well, since then some people have asked me by dm how were the chicks doing, so I decided to post it here so everyone who was concerned for them could have some relief.

They're eating well, pooping well, grabbing way stronger than i thought and also thermoregulate themselves very well.

Unfortunately I haven't found some rehab organization who could take care of them.

Help

Hello everyone, I have an emergency.

Last night, someone gave me some very small woodpecker chicks. They had spent the entire day in a truck because the people who had them didn't know what to do with them, and they told me last night that they had them there. They said they found them on the ground after cutting down a tree.

I have pet chicks, and I bought mealworms to give them as a treat. I've been feeding them the headless ones with powdered calcium.

If you're wondering why I haven't taken them to a vet, I'm from Venezuela, and there are two reasons:

  1. I don't have the money to pay for an exotic animal vet.

  2. Here, the most exotic animals most vets treat are cats.

My options were to adopt them or let them die. I hope you understand.

Now my question is, what can I feed them? From what I understand, mealworms are very oily, and it's not good to feed them only that.

I asked at several agricultural supply stores if they had food for them, and they said no and that they didn't know what I could give them.

I read somewhere that giving them wet cat food might also work.

I need advice because I really don't want them to die.
