Every student should ask himself to find a study method that suit you

I was in college when my math grades suddenly started to drop. It was a difficult moment in my student life.

My father started to believe that I wasn’t studying enough. But the truth was that, over time, the concepts became more complex, while my study strategy was on autopilot and was no longer effective.

I declined the offer of receiving private tutoring because I felt that I was the only one who could find the study strategy that suited me.

Then, an observation about how books are structured inspired me.

The bullet points — 1.a, 1.b, 1.c… 2.a, 2.b… — guide you through the material. It seems obvious, but many students fall into the trap of trying to understand everything at once.

I needed to structure the way I studied my notes:

• Start with small concepts first.

• Make sure you master each concept before moving forward (ask for help)

• Don’t worry if you’re slower than your classmates learning is an individual journey.

• Build momentum with examples you already understand.

• Then gradually increase the complexity through small iterations.

• Sleep more, your brain need to rest.

Sometimes, the problem isn’t that you’re not studying enough.

You may simply need a better strategy.
