Hi there, currently trying to paint match my headlight housing. Any tips on how to separate the glass cover from the plastic that holds the lenses? So far ive heated it all up and have been scraping it with a razor blade but seemingly it doesnt budge and because mine have a lip around the edge of the glass its hard to get underneath and scrape the butyl rubber there. Would greatly appreciate any tips. Thanks
Hi there, ive been trying to figure out some issues with my car for some times now and seemingly cant seem to fix it. Its a euro sedan 97’ m52b20. It cranks but it doesn’t start. To give some context, back when it ran it would do this thing where after getting it into neutral it would keep bringing the revs up from idle from about 1000 to 1500 on and on until it stops some time later and keep them at ~800. Another thing was it didnt have power when i was wide open all the way until over 5000rpm. This progressively became worse with time as i wasnt home and had to drive the car back. It would stutter basically all the way in the rev range, until it finally gave up and would not give me any power and seemingly went into a sort of emergency mode where it would keep the revs under 1600 and be incredibly powerless. Towed it back and changed my fuel filter (as it was time, not necessarily related) and also - what i think the problem is - my crank position sensor. I put a HELLA sensor in, wired it all up and asked a friend to come help me. It cranked again, but no start. Decided to try carb fluid into the intake, which surprisingly made it start and it ran awful - misfired and after a few strokes backfired into the intake which made me stop trying. I checked the fuel pump, which works (it was changed about 10k km ago), looked if the injector rail had pressure in it- it does, and i cant seem to figure out if i should find and put a siemens crank sensor and try that way or if the problem is bigger than that. Help is really appriciated as i cant figure it out. Thanks.
