Golden boy Ozzy 9 months

Hey all,
We have our Golden retriever since 8 weeks old, in the beginning we've tried all of things like dog school, paid online cursus and lessons but we never had a "good feeling" with them and we've gone with the flow.
I really dont need my dog to know all kinds of commands or be super obedient. We would just like to be his goofy self and just be a little calm so we can cuddle and enjoy time together. But to this day, it hasn't been possible beside a very rare couple of times.
Since like 3-4 weeks it's been really bad (biting, humping, jumping on strangers, not listening to simple commands like "come" and the list goes on). It feels like we've done something really bad and we are at the end of our Latin...
The dog is never really alone, he always goes to the office with the misses and there he does find his place to settle, and just be you know? But here in the house where there is plenty of things to chew, like Kongs, lickymats, toys of all kinds and so on. We go for 3 walks all between 30 minutes and 1 hour with some off-leash time right before bed.
We really can't sit in the sofa without him jumping over us, biting, humping. We would like to believe it's just a phase but it is really affection our relationship and ofcourse the relationship with our beloved first Golden. It's just such a damn pity!
As of today, we are back on leash in the house, correcting when the behaviour gets to aroused or to nippy, but we don't like this way of doing it whatsoever... I think this way of showing who's boss is to harsh but like I said, we don't see any other way because he constantly is all over the place. Not to think how confusing it should be for him after getting enough room from when it was possible.
We are currently trying to leave the room etc etc.
Tl;dr: Golden Retriever 9 months, very nippy, no rest, always playing (very hard) in the sofa, has external room and bench where he can decompress, gets enough sleep, gets enough exercise, has enough toys, never alone, no other dogs yet
