I got to see my AP Lit test score early on my college's portal and was blown away that I GOT A 5!?!?!? And I owe it all to Project Hail Mary

My prompt was all about how a character's lack of self-awareness contributed to the work, so I got to insightfully write fangirl all about how Grace's amnesia allowed him to believe in himself/be brave, as his true low self-esteem would otherwise hold him back. Then I tried to get complex with it and did this whole comparison of bravery vs cowardice with perceived sense of self vs how others perceive and how Grace and Rocky affected each other it was a whole thing lol

I really wish I could read that essay again and like, actually have a copy of it because that was probably one of the only decent things I've ever written haha

But anyway, THANK YOU ANDY WEIR FOR WRITTING PROJECT HAIL MARY AND MAKING IT SO AMAZING!!!! Because now I get to bypass not one, but two courses in college that I realllyyyyy did not want to take

Incoming college freshman here, majoring in Plant Biology. My first-year classes will be primarily chemistry and math, though. I'm trying to set myself up to have the optimal studying experience, so I'm trying to determine what's right for me.

Previously, I've just used a notebook for each subject, with random loose papers thrown in there. I have incredibly atrocious handwriting, and although I attempt highlighting and diagrams/doodles, it's such a sloppy mess that going over notes is a nightmare. I'm not sure if using a note-taking app(also, recommendations?) would help me stay better organized/neater or not. Any tips regarding cleaning up my notes is also appreciated.

I'm also an incredibly frugal person and hate buying anything that I don't absolutely need/desperately want. If I buy an ipad and it ends up being a poor fit for me, I'll get super miserable every time I look at it haha

I have some cash from local scholarships + money from my summer job that I can use, though I'd prefer to spend this on future months of meal-prepping/savings so the cheaper the better.

It would mean a lot if I could get general recommendations on the right ipad for me, as well as accessories (I think the apple pencil, then a case, a screen-protector--I think there's ones that mimic paper??--) and a rough price estimate. I have an HP Laptop (won it in a raffle haha) so I don't need a keyboard.

I gave my AP Lit teacher my copy of PHM to read (so she could grade one of my essays without spoilers lol) and she loved it so much she decided we’d watch it in class! (we do a short film analysis unit after the AP test)

It was my fourth watch and it was so fun to see all my classmates enjoy it! Now, we get to do a project inspired by PHM 👎👎 I’m so proud of what I’ve started haha
