Medical advice welcome.
I am a 24 year old diagnosed with h-eds and for the last 8 months I have been having a variety of digestive disturbances.
The main issue centres around bowel movements. I have either had chronic diahrea or what I thought was constipation.
I have had mild bouts of bowel incontinence and I have also had to manually remove waste at times. Both of these are less common but definitely far more than what is considered reasonable. My doctor and nutritionist have been working hard with me to work out of its food or something MCAS aligned but nothing has improved despite many major changes.
Ive had occasional mild mucus and bleeding, normally just before or after one of the bowel movements that I need need to manually remove.
Now I know as someone with EDS things like prolapses are more common. There is nothing really visible so I've always assumed that I've never had a prolapse. I recently learnt that they can be more internal and not super visible?
I was wondering if anyone has insight to if investigating a prolapse is worth it with these symptoms? Is there anything I might be able to feel or other symptoms that could suggest a prolapse?
If so, what is the process of looking into it? If anyone is in Australia who could give me advice on that one in particular that would be helpful.
Thanks in advance!
