Patina with resolene

Over the weekend I made a belt and coated it with some resolene, guy at the shop told me it would protect it from dirt and water. Question is, will.it still develop a normal patina? Or since it's coated in acrylic will it be different? If its slower than normal how much slower? And if I decide to take off the resolene how do I do so?

Spent Sunday making a billfold wallet out of leftover leather from my very first piece. Didn't use a pattern like last time so there are definitely some oversights here, lots of trouble with that left pocket because of this lol. But for my second go I'm pretty damn proud, not professional or clean cut, but it's mine! Cheers to anyone starting this hobby, and to those who are here to offer their expertise to the noobs😁
