Having the Intracept procedure done in l5-s1 today!

I am very nervous, as I usually do no sedation for my facet and epidural injections. I have a lot of things wrong with me, so I’ve had them in my neck, low back, and shoulders. It usually doesn’t bother me. Something about them having to go INTO the vertebrae, and me having to be sedated is making me more anxious, I think. Trying to remind myself that it’s supposed to be a nice nap, lol.

I’ve recently had my cervical and lumbar nerves burned off, which has helped tremendously with a lot of pain, but this pain in my low back has been excruciating lately! I’m so hopeful that this will give me more of my life back. My goal is to be able to walk around with my kids (like at the zoo or something). Right now, I’m really struggling to walk far, or even stand long without pain. I walked .95 miles the other day with the kiddos, and it about broke me for the next 2 days.

My excitement and hope is warring with my fear and anxiety, and I can’t sleep. I’ll try to update y’all in a few weeks or so, and let you know how it went/how it’s feeling. I’ve been seeing mixed reviews about this procedure, and hadn’t even heard of it until a month ago. Wish me luck!
