How long is the donor site going to hurt??

I had a gum graft done a week ago today. I have an appointment to get my stitches removed next week. I was given putty over both the graft site and the donor site. While the graft site has been holding up incredibly, I actually had to go and get the stitches on my donor site taken out 5 days post op due to the putty getting stuck on them and causing a lot of pain from it being pulled around from eating, drinking, etc. I felt a lot of relief after the putty and stitches were removed but its back to being painful. I also don't know any other ways to manage pain aside from ibuprofen and the occasional listerine rinse which both don't do a whole lot for me. Obviously it feels smooth but also kinda sunken in ? The area is a super light pink color, nearly white, and I can't tell if thats a good or bad sign. I'm just wondering how long it'll take for the pain to decrease even a little bit. If anyone remembers the healing process of their palate after a gum graft do tell me how long it took healing! And also if the whiteish color is a bad sign😅 Tyia :-)

Day 4 post gum graft putty

I had a gum graft done 4 days ago using tissue from the roof of my mouth. I had putty put over both areas which has been a lifesaver up to this point. The putty over the actual graft site hasnt moved an inch and I havent had any pain in that area. The putty on the roof of my mouth however has begun to thin out and break apart. In the past 2 days Ive had a couple chunks come off which they said would be normal and to just leave it. My only issue is that the putty has now loosened up so much to where I can move it with my tongue and when I talk it slides and pulls on the area. Its super uncomfortable and kinda stings. I was told it'd probably fall off around a week after having the graft done but I didn't know it was gonna come off in chunks and loosen up. Should I try to take the rest of it off or leave it be? I feel like the movement might be bad for the area but I don't know if taking it off would be difficult or a bad idea. Has anyone had this issue before? Any advice is appreciated:-)
