hey guys i need some honest advice about my situation
im currently doing igcse and my subjects are:
- english (A)
- business (A)
- [other subjects mostly A/B range]
- maths (failed)
- french (passed)
so overall im not a bad student but maths is clearly my weak point
the thing is i barely study on my own like maybe 1 hour a week max 😭 i do have tuitions for some subjects but im not really used to working independently. also igcse doesnt really have coursework so whenever i get an assignment i lowkey just use chatgpt and wing it which i know is not great long term
now im thinking about doing ibdp and these are the subjects im considering:
- SL english
- SL math (or maybe lower if possible)
- HL business
- HL ESS
- HL music
- SL french
i want to go into business / entrepreneurship in the future, maybe start my own thing. i might also consider tetr or mdx later for uni but im not 100% sure yet
my concerns:
- i’ve heard ib is really heavy and im not used to consistent studying or coursework
- my maths is weak so idk how much that will hurt me in ib
- im not sure if my subject combo even makes sense
also random question:
is HL music actually worth it or is it kinda a filler subject / headache / useless or actually good?
be honest:
- do you think i would survive / do well in ib with this profile?
- what would you change in my subjects?
- should i even do ib or consider another route?
