My application was withdrawn after pre-employment form filed and checks because I don’t meet SC clearance residency requirements.
I’ve been living in the UK since 4 year and 11 months, so I’m currently about 1 month short of the 5-year requirement. The role required SC clearance, and they said they couldn’t proceed because of this.
I had already progressed quite far in the process, so this was really frustrating to hear at the final stage.
Has anyone else been in a similar situation where they were just slightly short of the residency requirement?
Is there any flexibility at all, or any way to proceed once the 5 years are completed ?
Also, would it be better to reapply after completing the 5 years, or try to ask them to hold the role or start a new clearance once eligible?
I also spoke with the recruitment team, but haven’t received a response yet, and the MoJ portal now shows my application as withdrawn.
