I just visited Festival Beach Food Forest for the first time and it’s such a cool place if you love foraging and being outside. It’s a big shady area, so I can imagine it won’t be half bad in the summer either. That’s great news considering almost everything is not ready yet lol. I absolutely adore figs and saw they have several large fig trees positively overburdened with fruit (unripe by miles, they won’t be ready until August at the earliest). Wild question, but does anyone know what kind of fig it is?
Figs have been cultivated by humans since the dawn of time so I know there’s thousands of varieties and it would be impossible to tell exactly what kind it is unless you bought it yourself or had it genetically tested. Color of the ripe fruit and the pulp would tell me what I want to know.
